Wildsnow have got their hands on a pre-production model of the new Vipec tech binding from Diamir. This is the first Fritschi binding to adopt the lightweight ‘pin’ fixings seen on Dynafit, Plum and others. The pre-production unit has some nice features including a side-release toe-piece which slides to the side and allows one of the pin mounts to swing out the way, releasing the boot.
While maybe not as simple to get in and out of as similar bindings, the sub 600g weight including brakes is not to be sniffed at.
It’ll be interesting to see how this one develops and is due for release (no pun intended) in January.
